To introduce Australians to some of the happiest people on the planet while having an adventure and learning about niVanuatu people, their Kustoms and culture.

Our Team

Sam Willie

A part owner of BIG Island Adventures. Sam has lived in Vanuatu all his life and lived off the sea. A wealth of knowledge of all things Kustom including local foods, below and above the ocean. Sam grew up in Malakula and will be your guide on many adventures. Sam is in charge of logistics, but usually can be found with a bush knife in his hand eating some local food!

Nick Price

Part owner of Big Island Adventures and lover of all things fishing. Nick has been involved with the fishing industry in Australia for most of his life, from working in fish research with NSW Fisheries to working in the recreational fishing industry. Nick has fished extensively all over Australia for most species. He has had many jobs from farmer, tackle shop owner to School Pastor with a myriad of experience. He loves fishing and therefore loves Vanuatu and its people.

Jamie Kaltabang

Jamie is a Pango local. Jamie has finished bible school and lives in pango with his family. Jamie is in charge of the office plus all our behind the scenes management, marketing and IT.

Rimbwe Sine

Rimbwe is originally from Pentecost but now lives in Vila. Rimbwe works for both Scripture Union Vanuatu and BIG Island Adventures. Rimbwe can do anything, from tell lots of Kustom stories, run paddleboarding to look after clients on a boat. Nothing this man can’t do.

Collin makito.

Collin has fished both in Vanuatu and Australia catching pelagic and freshwater species such as Australian Bass. Collin is originally from Pamma but now makes Port Villa home. Like most niVanautu Collin grew up in the ocean and we suspect salt water runs in his veins.

Matthew Russel (Russ)

Russ grew up fishing and hunting in Australia. Russ is a qualified mechanic and spent time in the Australian Army. Somehow Russ made his way to Vanuatu and fell in love with the people and easy going lifestyle. Russ loves the fishing around Vanuatu and both leads expeditions and Captains “Galatians 6:14”. Russ now only leaves Vanuatu to go to Australia or NZ on hunting and fishing trips.
